Dr. Ekta Patel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astrophysics and Planetary Science at Villanova University.
Her research interests include near-field cosmology, galaxy dynamics, and dark matter. She uses the combined power of observational data sets, orbital modeling, and high-resolution simulations of the Universe to uncover how galaxies grow, evolve, and interact with each other over cosmic time.​​​​​

Outside of teaching and research, Dr. Patel is committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and belonging within higher education.
